Quickstart
From your project URL to posts in your voice in about five minutes.
1 · Connect your platforms
- Telegram: add
@postmine_botas a channel admin, then enter your@channelnamein Connections. We verify the bot’s rights automatically. - Dev.to: paste an API key from dev.to → Settings → Extensions. Articles publish as drafts by default, with your
canonical_urlpreserved. - X, LinkedIn, Threads: one-click OAuth. We detect X Premium for the 25K character limit, refresh Threads long-lived tokens automatically, and warn you 7 days before a token that cannot refresh expires. Connecting Threads enables native publishing; without it, the pre-filled composer fallback stays available.
Connecting Telegram, step by step
Telegram is the quickest channel to connect. PostMine posts through a shared bot, @postmine_bot, that you add to your own channel as an admin. You never share a password, and you can remove the bot whenever you like.
- 1. Open or create a channel: In Telegram, use an existing channel or create one (menu → New Channel). Both public and private channels work.
- 2. Add @postmine_bot as an admin: Open your channel → Administrators → Add Admin and pick
@postmine_bot. Or use the "Add@postmine_botto my channel" button in Connections, which pre-selects the channel and the post right for you. - 3. Keep the Post messages right on: That single permission lets the bot publish your posts. It cannot read your other chats or change your settings.
- 4. Connect it in PostMine: Back in Connections, type your public
@channelnameand hit Verify & connect. For a private channel, click scan for it and choose it from the list. We verify the bot’s rights automatically.
Why admin rights? Telegram only lets channel admins post. The Post messages right is the minimum @postmine_bot needs to publish on your behalf, nothing more.
More on channels and admins is in Telegram’s official help.
2 · Draft, adapt, post
Open New post, write your source text in any language, toggle the platforms, hit Adapt. Edit any variant by hand, counters are live. Then Post now or schedule a time. Each platform is an independent target with its own status and Retry.
3 · Tone of voice
PostMine learns how you write from your connected accounts. One click in Settings and it reads your recent posts to build a tone profile from your sentence length, emoji habits, structure and phrasing. No samples to paste. Every variant is then written in that voice, within each platform’s format.
Prefer a ready-made voice? Pick one of 8 presets, globally in Settings or per post in the composer:
- My tone: detected from your posts
mine - Building in public: candid progress notes, numbers, no hype
- Expert: calm, precise, no emoji
- Casual friend: warm, contractions, light emoji
- Hype launch: high energy, short punches
- Minimalist: fewest words that work
- Storyteller: scene first, lesson second
- Educator: step by step, examples
- Contrarian: Challenges the common take. Leads with the unpopular opinion, backs it with specifics, never hedges.
In the composer, the tone selector sits above Adapt, and every variant card has its own tone chip to override a single platform. Change either and the variants re-adapt in the new voice. Switching tone marks existing variants stale, the same way editing the source does.
4 · Connect your AI assistant (MCP)
PostMine's MCP server is a workspace-scoped mirror of your growth workflow. Your assistant can read project context and analysis, work through opportunities and ready posts, and publish content you approve without opening the dashboard.
Free and Pro use the same /api/mcp endpoint and revocable pm_sk_ keys. Every tool applies the same plan access, inventory caps, cadence, publishing connections and rate limits as the web app.

20 tools, grouped by job
list_projects: List projects and the latest saved parse status for each one.get_project: Read the complete saved product profile.list_documents: List all 6 document kinds, their generation state and any Free or Pro lock.get_document: Read a generated document. Free can read the 3 free documents; Pro can read all 6.list_competitors: List saved competitors in rank order, up to the current plan cap.get_site_analysis: Read the full SEO, technical and GEO audit, with an optional refresh when it is stale.list_connections: Inspect publishing platforms, connection health, language and publishing mode.get_limits: Check the current plan and its project, document, competitor, post and opportunity limits.
list_opportunities: Read current or archived reply opportunities and the next plan cadence anchor.list_posts: Read current, posted or archived ready posts by platform without generating new ones.get_reply: Get a saved reply draft and source thread URL for manual posting.draft_reply: Generate a missing reply draft for one saved opportunity.refresh_posts: Top up eligible empty post slots within the shared plan, cadence and daily limits.mark_engaged: Record that you acted on an item manually and move it through the shared feed lifecycle.dismiss_item: Move an opportunity or ready post to the shared archive.restore_item: Restore a dismissed opportunity or post when the active inventory has room.
publish_post: Publish a generated ready post by id. Replays are idempotent, and an unconnected platform returns a copy or web-intent fallback.adapt_text: Pro: adapt arbitrary source text into per-platform variants without publishing.compose_post: Pro: adapt arbitrary text, then publish now or schedule it for connected platforms.list_workspaces: List the workspace tied to the API key.
Free vs Pro through MCP
| Capability | Free | Pro |
|---|---|---|
| MCP key | Included | Included |
| Projects | 1 | Up to 3 |
| Documents | 3 free documents | All 6 documents |
| Competitors | First 5 | All competitors |
| SEO, technical, GEO | Full analysis | Full analysis |
| Opportunities | All qualified, top 5 first | All qualified, top 8 first |
| Ready posts | Up to 3 per Free platform: X, Dev.to, Threads | Up to 6 per platform, including LinkedIn and Telegram |
| publish_post | X, Dev.to, Threads | All posting platforms |
| adapt_text and compose_post | Not included | Included |
compose_post is capped at 12 calls per day. Feed inventory and publishing share the same slots and limits with the dashboard, so an item used in one surface is used everywhere.
Limits cheat-sheet
- X: 280 (or 25,000 with Premium), URLs count as 23 chars
- LinkedIn: 3,000
- Telegram: 4,096, image caption 1,024 (handled automatically)
- Threads: 500 - native publish when connected, pre-filled composer fallback when unconnected
- Dev.to: no hard limit, max 4 lowercase tags
- Tone of voice: 8 presets, or mine for your detected voice, optional per request
Posting limits and frequency
PostMine has no daily cap of its own: publish as much as you need. We only respect each platform’s official API limits, so a post never silently fails and your account stays in good standing.
| Platform | Official API limit |
|---|---|
| X | per-app and per-user rate limits |
| Telegram | ~20 messages / minute (flood limit) |
| Dev.to | short publish burst, then throttled |
- LinkedIn reach drops when you post more than once a day. The composer warns you right on the LinkedIn target so you can space posts out.
- Bans come from spam behavior (mass duplicates, auto-DMs, bot bursts), not from posting volume through official APIs at a normal pace.
Account safety
- No auto-posting: every variant is approved by you, nothing publishes without your action or a schedule.
- No DM, comment, follow or engagement automation.
- Official platform APIs only, never browser automation.
- No verbatim blasting: each platform gets its own adapted variant.
- Scheduled posts fire with a small random offset, up to 2 minutes, so they do not look machine-fired.
